MTV Digital: URGE.com VJ portraits
When MTV Digital launched their Urge online music service, they wanted the avatars for the site’s “Informers”—music bloggers who curated genre-specific playlists—to be different than the typical headshot photo.
I was hired to create a fantasy portrait of each Informer. Working from photos and a brief description of the Informer’s fantasy, I was free to to bring their visions to life in whatever illustrative style I chose.
In retrospect, I find it ironic that I used an old-fashioned airbrush to create these then-cutting-edge images!
